Cidra Sebastien to speak at Symposium

We are excited to welcome back educator, organizer and auntie, Cidra M. Sebastien to the 2021 Teen Summer Symposium.

She has developed culturally relevant, gender affirming and arts and activism curricula; published OpEds about youth leadership development and DACA; appeared on radio and television outlets; and contributed to local and national policy-making regarding investing in the advancement young people. A graduate of Hampton University and New York University, Cidra was an executive staff member of The Brotherhood/Sister Sol, a NYC social justice youth organization, for nearly 20 years. She is also an avid runner and a Board Member of the New York Road Runners.

She will lead students in an examination of the role of young people in justice movements in the US, discuss issues young people are organizing to impact now, and imagine a more just world together.
